Sympathetic frequencies in the horoscope

Do you know what sympathetic strings are, on musical instruments?


They are strings that you don't pluck. They make sounds when other strings are played on the same frequency, or on a lower or higher frequency (like an octave).



This is how I understand the principle of rulership in astrology.

Venus rules Libra and Taurus. When Venus is played, Libra and Taurus vibrate, like sympathetic strings, and planets in Libra and Taurus then are activated.

It goes the other way round as well, if something is played in Libra or Taurus, then Venus resonates.


I think this works with the so-called “natural rulers” as well. Saturn makes the 10th house vibrate when it sounds, along with Capricorn.


However, in a complex and subtle world like ours, we need to develop a sense for nuances. In music, a sound is made of a fundamental tone and various harmonics, which are higher frequencies. In theory there is an infinity of harmonics.


When Saturn is plucked by the cosmic musician, various other places in the horoscope can vibrate sympathetically, but at various frequencies. What I am saying is to be taken metaphorically.


At a certain level, the tenth house vibrates with Saturn for its connections with achievement. At another level, the fourth house vibrates with Saturn on the “foundations” wavelength: in horary astrology, if you’re asking where something you’ve lost may be and you get the fourth house, go down to the cellar.

Traditionally, Saturn is said to rejoice in the twelfth house, and it makes sense as Saturn brings restrictions and the twelfth vibrates with trials and undoing.


When a wavelength is played, everything that is on that wavelength resonates.

If we understand what the planets, signs and houses mean, we can see various kinds of common grounds - of sympathetic frequencies.

The karmic indicators in the birth chart

1 South Node and North Node. The Moon Nodes are always exactly opposite in the chart. The South Node (also called Ketu) represents the energy coming from our past lives, or from our family/ancestry/genetic inheritance..  It is an energy we are familiar with and needs to be balanced by the opposite energy of the North Node.
