Mercury, messengers and servants.
If our personality was a kingdom, the Sun would be the king, the Moon the queen, both sitting on their thrones at the centre of their palace in the capital city.
Mercury is a messenger and a servant. There is only one Mercury in the sky but there are many messengers and servants in the kingdom.
The King and the Queen give orders. The messengers run, ride, drive, fly and tell.
In the kingdom like in a personality, servants are at the bottom of the hierarchy. Royal Messages reach ministers. In turn, they send instructions to their subordinates. At the end of the communication line, hands with tools eventually do the work.
In the body, Mercury rules over the nervous system. Intentions come from the Sun, taking action needs muscles, nerves carry the messages.
Through Gemini, Mercury rules over the shoulders, arms and hands. The heart may want to hug you, but the arms and the hands will reach out.
The Moon wanted a hug as well, and to know whether the place was safe and if there was food to share. Again, without Mercury, stomachs could wait for a very long time.
In the kingdom like in a personality, servants are at the bottom of the hierarchy. Royal Messages reach ministers. In turn, they send instructions to their subordinates. At the end of the communication line, hands with tools eventually do the work.
They build roads, houses or cathedrals. They use shovels, hammers or chisels. They prepare medicines, clean and bandage wounds. They cook and serve meals. Etc.
With Virgo Mercury, we are on the ultimate receiving end. The messages are eventually followed by down to earth action.
When you think of it, even practical activities are chains of communication.
Take a pen.
The tip of the pen is very small – but that’s the only part of the pen that is actually doing the work when I’m writing.
Thanks to the body of the pen, I can hold it, and communicate the right gesture from my hand to the tip.
To sum it up, in a kingdom, in a personality , in any kind of system, organism or organisation, messengers are sent by the King or Queen (or whoever is in command) and result is action taken and work being done.
The messengers then come back to the King and Queen and tell them what’s going on.
Communication is always a two-way thing. Giving orders, receiving intelligence.
